Bond’s shoes in London are about as quiet as shoes get. In No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s Bond wears the Crockett & Jones Highbury: a plain-fronted black calf derby with three pairs of eyelets and no ornament of any kind. It asks very little of you, and in our view that is why the Crockett & Jones Highbury is worth owning.
In the film
Bond wears the black calf Highbury through the London scenes of No Time To Die. It appears with his navy and grey Tom Ford O’Connor suits, beside his Aston Martin V8 Vantage and on Hammersmith Bridge. It is the same model he wore in Skyfall and Spectre, and the pair Crockett & Jones sells today is that shoe.
The details of the Crockett & Jones Highbury
A plain front. There is no toecap and no brogueing, only an unbroken sweep of leather from toe to laces. That suits a derby, a style the maker says bridges smart and smart casual with ease.
Three eyelets. The lacing is short and the vamp stays uncluttered, so the shoe reads as a single clean shape from across a room.
Black calf. Black is the dressiest way to wear a plain-fronted derby. Polished, it is sharp enough for a dark suit; left a little worn, it settles down and looks like a pair you have owned for years.
The City sole. Crockett & Jones fits a rubber City sole rather than leather. We think that is the right decision for a shoe meant for London pavements in October.
The 348 last. The Highbury is built on the 348, a soft square-toed last that the maker credits as Bond’s choice in Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die. The shape is elongated, so a plain-toe shoe looks sleek rather than blunt.
How it is made. The shoe is Goodyear welted and made in England. Crockett & Jones says each pair takes up to eight weeks and more than 200 operations. A welted shoe can be resoled, which suits a pair you intend to keep.
Wearing it now
This is a city shoe. We would wear it with a navy or mid-grey suit, as Bond does, and just as readily with grey flannel trousers and a dark knit on a Friday. It also works with dark chinos and a plain oxford shirt, where the plain front keeps things sober. We would not wear it with black tie; that calls for something more formal.
Care. Use cedar shoe trees every time you take them off, and give a pair a day’s rest between wears. Black calf shows a polish well, so a few minutes with a brush and cream every couple of weeks is enough.
Fit. The Noble Shoe, a retailer that stocks it, notes that the 348 fits much like the maker’s 337 Handgrade last, with a little room ahead of the toes that is purely cosmetic. If you are between sizes, try a pair on or ask the maker before ordering.
Which one? Black calf with the City sole is the version from the film, and it is the one we would choose. If you want a more relaxed shoe for the country, look elsewhere in the range; this one belongs in town.

Questions
Are these the shoes Bond wears in No Time To Die?
Yes. Bond wears the black calf Highbury in the London scenes, and Crockett & Jones names it among his shoes for the film. The maker also names the Molton for his scenes in Norway.
Is the Highbury a derby or an oxford?
It is a derby, with open lacing, a plain front and three eyelets. That makes it a little more relaxed than an oxford and easier to wear across a working week.
How much do the Crockett & Jones Highbury shoes cost?
RRP at the time of writing, October 2026, is US$930 for the black calf with a City sole, on Crockett & Jones’s US site. Prices vary by country and by retailer.
