The Aston Martin DB5 is the car Daniel Craig’s Bond takes to Scotland in Skyfall, and the Toy State British Secret Service R/C Aston Martin DB5 is one of the larger toy versions made for the film’s release. About 11 inches long, it is driven by a custom remote that looks like a video-game controller.
Owning it now
Toy State made it as part of a line of 007 cars released for the 50th anniversary of the films. The British Secret Service range is radio controlled, with working lights, realistic sounds, the Bond theme and light-up hidden weapon reveals. A reviewer in 2013 gave its suggested retail price as US$39.99, and the range is recommended for ages 6 and up. It runs on batteries.
It is out of production and found second-hand, and the button on this page runs a search for it on eBay. We would choose one that comes with its controller and runs properly. For other collectibles from the film, see our toys and collectibles and the Skyfall page.
In the same spirit
For a current model of the car, the Scalextric Aston Martin DB5 Limited Edition C3162A is a 1:32 slot car of the DB5 from Casino Royale. It is a different toy from a different film, not this radio-controlled car.
