Jinx Johnson is the rare Bond ally who arrives with her own sidearm. In Die Another Day (2002), Halle Berry’s Jinx carries a Beretta Cheetah, a compact Italian pistol with a long history behind it. The film’s pistol is not sold new in that form, but Beretta has revived the name with the 80X Cheetah.
In the film
Jinx carries the pistol while she hunts Zao, uses it to kill Dr Alvarez, and has it with her at Graves’s ice palace and on his plane. The Prop Store sold one of the pistols from the production as a deactivated hero piece, with a wooden grip and a four-inch barrel, and one fan wiki records that her handgun alternates on screen between a Cheetah and the smaller Beretta Tomcat.
The Beretta Cheetah, then and now
A long family tree. The Cheetah name entered Beretta’s catalogue in 1994, with models in .380 in several layouts, including double-stack and single-stack versions. The 80 series that the Cheetah belongs to is a line of compact, blowback-operated semi-automatic pistols.
The 80X Cheetah. Beretta revived the name in 2023 with the 80X. It remains a blowback-operated .380 ACP, now with a smaller Vertec-style grip, an X-treme S double/single-action trigger, a skeletonised hammer and a 13+1 round capacity. It is optics-ready out of the box. The Tactical Desert variant holds 15 rounds and has a forged 7075-T6 aluminium Vertec frame.
Size. A reviewer measured the Tactical Desert at 7.5in long and 25oz, with a 4.4in barrel, larger than a pocket pistol.
Owning it now
There are two honest routes. The first is the modern one: the 80X Cheetah, priced from US$649 on Beretta’s US site at the time of writing, October 2026, and bought through a licensed dealer. It is a new gun with a familiar name, not a copy of the one on screen, and it is sold as a modern carry pistol rather than a collector’s piece.
The second is a collector’s route, for a deactivated or display example of the film’s style of pistol. Provenance matters here far more than with clothing, and the Prop Store’s estimate for the hero example was £10,000 to £15,000, which is a reminder that the screen item is a different object from anything on a dealer’s shelf. Firearm laws differ by country and state, so check what you can legally buy and keep before you shop.
If the interest is in the film rather than the hardware, the more practical way in is the look of the world around it. See the rest of Weapons, or the full list from Die Another Day.

Questions
What gun does Jinx carry in Die Another Day?
Jinx carries a Beretta Cheetah. The Prop Store describes a hero example, and one fan wiki says the film alternates between a Cheetah and a smaller Tomcat.
Can you still buy the Beretta Cheetah?
Beretta currently sells the 80X Cheetah in .380 ACP, from US$649 at the time of writing. It is a modern pistol with the same name, not the exact gun from the film.
Is the 80X Cheetah the same pistol as the one in the film?
No. It shares the name and the .380 blowback layout, but it is a 2023 design with a different grip and frame.
