In the Jamaica scenes of No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s Bond goes spearfishing in a pair of plain black diving gloves. Nobody has confirmed who made them. One suggestion is the Riffe Amara glove, and we put it forward as exactly that: a candidate. The Riffe Amara gloves are 2mm neoprene with a reinforced palm and fingertips, made for hunters, and they are worth owning whether or not they ever crossed a film set.

In the film

Our catalogue lists black diving gloves as part of Bond’s Jamaica yacht fishing outfit in No Time To Die (2021), worn while he spearfishes. The maker has not been confirmed. The suggestion that they are Riffe Amara gloves rests on a single low-confidence source, so we describe them as a possible match and nothing stronger. For the wider picture, see our page on No Time To Die.

The details of the Riffe Amara gloves

2mm Yamamoto neoprene. This is a thin glove, suited to warm water. It protects the hand from scrapes while keeping bulk down, which matters when you need to feel a line, a trigger or a knife handle.

A reinforced Amara palm and fingertips. The neoprene is bonded to nylon, and the palm and the ends of the fingers are reinforced with Riffe’s Amara material. These are the parts that meet rock, rope and gear, so they are the parts you would expect to wear first.

Plain black, five sizes. Riffe makes them in XS to XL, and Amazon’s listing describes them as ambidextrous. There is no pattern or colour to date them.

Made by a speargun specialist. Riffe began with handmade wooden spearguns. The gloves are working kit from a maker that knows the sport, and Riffe pitches them at active hunters.

Wearing it now

The honest case for these gloves is practical. If you spearfish, freedive or snorkel in warm water, they are a modest piece of kit, and they sit comfortably in a dive bag beside a mask and a good pair of fins. We would choose them as an inexpensive nod to Bond’s Jamaican fishing days, and for their use, rather than as a costume.

Sizing. Riffe publishes a size chart on the product page. Measure your hand and check it before ordering, because a neoprene glove that is too large loses the dexterity that makes it worth wearing.

Water temperature. At 2mm these suit warm seas. For cold water you will want something thicker. A man planning a day off Jamaica is well served; one planning a winter dive off Cornwall is not.

Care. Amazon’s listing says hand wash only. Rinse them in fresh water after salt and let them dry away from direct sun.

Questions

Are these the gloves Bond wears in No Time To Die?

Unconfirmed. Bond wears black diving gloves while spearfishing, and the Riffe Amara has been suggested as a match, but we have found no source that verifies it. We treat it as a possible candidate only.

How much do the Riffe Amara gloves cost?

At the time of writing, October 2026, the RRP is US$36 in every size.

What are the Riffe Amara gloves made of?

They are 2mm Yamamoto neoprene bonded to nylon, with a reinforced Amara palm and fingertips.

Are they warm enough for cold water?

Probably not. Two millimetres is a thin, warm-water thickness, so for cold seas choose a thicker glove.
