A Leon Paul metallic fencing piste is the floor that turns a hall into a fencing venue, and it is the strip Bond and Graves duel on at Blades in Die Another Day. It is a serious purchase for a club or a very committed home, and it is sold as sports equipment rather than as a prop.

In the film

The metallic piste is the fencing strip for the duel between Pierce Brosnan’s Bond and Graves at Blades. Our evidence is that Leon Paul, the London fencing outfitter, supplied a metallic piste and equipment for the film, but the confidence is low, so we describe it as the closest match we can identify rather than a confirmed model.

Owning it now

Leon Paul’s current metallic option is the Sectional Aluminium Piste, which the maker describes as the metal interlocking floor it invented for the Atlanta Olympics and improved for London 2012. Leon Paul’s US store lists it at US$6,875 (RRP at the time of writing, October 2026) and in stock. The same pistes page also lists EasyPistes at US$5,246 and the Malterre conductive roll-out piste at US$6,534.

Most readers will want a different kind of purchase. If you fence, the piste is a club decision. If you do not, the film is better remembered on the page than on the floor.
