The most clinical object in Die Another Day is also one of the quietest. In the medical examination room aboard the ship where MI6 keeps watch over Pierce Brosnan’s Bond, his heart rate is read off a Philips IntelliVue MP60 patient monitor. It is background dressing, but it is a real product, and the Philips IntelliVue MP60 is easy to identify once you know to look.

Owning it now

This is hospital equipment, sold by Philips to healthcare providers rather than to the public, and we could not find it sold new to individuals. The units that reach collectors are used or refurbished, which is why the button below goes to a second-hand search. You will be buying from a medical reseller or a private seller, not from a shop, so ask about condition and what is included.

Treat it as a prop. Medaval, an independent assessor of health devices, says it has found no clinical validation for the monitor’s blood pressure measurement, so it should not stand in for a health tool. As a conversation piece it belongs in a study rather than beside a bed.
