In No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s Bond wears an off white silk square in the angled left chest pocket of his tuxedo, folded and kept deliberately quiet. It is the sort of detail nobody mentions, and the one that finishes the jacket. For anyone looking for a Tom Ford pocket square that behaves like part of the suit rather than an accessory to it, this is the reference to work from.

In the film

Bond wears the off white silk square in the angled left chest pocket of his tuxedo jacket in No Time To Die (2021). Tom Ford dressed Bond for the film, and the square is likely to come from that wardrobe, though we have not confirmed the maker or the exact style. Tom Ford sells silk pocket squares in several colours, including white, so its current range is the place to start.

The details

Off white, not white. A softer tone than optical white sits more gently against a white dress shirt and a dark dinner jacket. It reads as a deliberate choice rather than a hotel napkin.

Silk. Silk has a faint sheen that cotton and linen lack, and it folds crisply. In evening light that sheen is the whole point.

Restraint. With little to read in the cloth, the square relies on its fold and its proportion to the pocket. That is harder to get right than a pattern, and more rewarding when you do.

Wearing a Tom Ford pocket square now

This is the evening square. With a dinner jacket it is close to a default: white shirt, black bow tie, and a pale square folded so that a narrow line of silk shows above the pocket. Keep it flat and straight. Avoid the puffed, spiky arrangements that look rehearsed.

Beyond black tie. The same square works with a navy or charcoal suit and a white or pale blue shirt. Here we would keep the fold simple and let the cloth do the talking. If your tie is patterned, a plain square is the easiest way to avoid a clash.

Matching or not? It need not match the shirt exactly, but it should sit close to it in tone. The aim is a quiet continuation of the shirt, not a contrast.

Which one to buy. Because we cannot confirm the exact style, look for a plain silk square in off white or ivory from Tom Ford’s current range, and judge the colour in person where you can. A fine, well-finished edge matters more than any logo.

How sure are we?

The square is on screen, but the maker is the closest match we can identify rather than a confirmed credit. We say Tom Ford because the house dressed Bond for the film. Treat the link as a good guide to the look, not a certificate.

Questions

What pocket square does Bond wear in No Time To Die?

Bond wears an off white silk pocket square in the angled left chest pocket of his tuxedo jacket. Tom Ford dressed Bond for the film, though we have not confirmed the exact style.

How should you fold an off white pocket square with a tuxedo?

Fold it flat and square, so that a narrow, straight line of silk shows above the pocket. Keep it neat rather than fluffed. Simplicity is the guide: the square should look as though it was never fussed over.

Should a pocket square match your shirt?

It should harmonise rather than match. An off white square with a white shirt works well, provided the two tones sit close together.
