Not every detail in a Bond film is meant to be noticed. On the train in Morocco in Spectre (2015), the towels carry the initials CAM, the mark of the train company, and Daniel Craig’s Bond and Madeleine Swann use them. The Fine Cotton Company supplied the production with embroidered towels, napkins and a laundry bag, and a Fine Cotton Company embroidered towel is a quiet way to bring that idea home.

The appeal is restraint. A monogram in a single dark thread does more than any pattern, and it belongs in the guest bathroom, the dressing room or beside the bath. The maker personalises selected towels with names or initials, so we would choose your own initials over copying CAM. That is the film’s idea, in the spirit of the original, not a costume.

Keep the rest of the room plain and let the stitching be the only note. Wash according to the care label and go easy on detergent and softener. See our other pieces in Home & Interiors.
