The Danner 007 Tanicus boots are black, lace-up and built for rough ground, a long way from the city shoe. Danner made this edition for Daniel Craig’s Bond in No Time To Die and released it in September 2021. It has since sold out, so it is a collector’s piece now more than a shop purchase, though the thinking behind it is easy to borrow.

In the film

Bond wears the Tanicus boots with his commando outfit in No Time To Die (2021), alongside Mil-Tec touch gloves and a Rag & Bone Henley. The boots are the 007 edition Danner made for the film, not an off-the-shelf pair. See the rest of the film’s wardrobe on our No Time To Die page.

The details

Black, with a suede upper. Danner describes the upper as suede, and the colour is plain black, so the boot reads as dark and quiet rather than as a piece of kit. It does not look like a costume.

A Vibram outsole. Danner specifies Vibram rubber for the grip. The standard Tanicus it is based on has a pentagonal lug pattern designed for stability on mixed terrain.

A light base boot. Danner built the Tanicus as its lightest military boot, with a mesh lining and a polyurethane footbed. Those are facts about the standard Tanicus, the boot this edition is based on.

Marked for the edition. The 007 logo appears on the outside and inside of the boot, and the pair came in a black box carrying the No Time To Die logo. It was sold in men’s sizes only, 8 to 14.

Wearing the Danner 007 Tanicus boots now

Be realistic first. This edition has sold out, and second-hand pairs can cost several times the original US$180. We would pay that only for a pair with clear photographs in your size, and never just to own something Bond wore.

To find a pair, our button runs an eBay search for the Danner 007 Tanicus. Danner also released a 60th Anniversary version after the 2021 edition, and the search will show both, so check the listing photographs, the 007 markings and the box before you buy.

The better route is to take the idea. A black, lightweight lace-up boot with a rubber sole sits well with dark trousers and a plain Henley or crewneck, and we would add a field or waxed jacket over the top. It suits weekends in the country, long walks and travel days. It does not suit a suit. For that, see our guide to Bond’s shoes.

The standard Tanicus is still sold by Danner, in coyote, at an RRP of US$190 at the time of writing, October 2026. It is a different colour and not the film boot, so we would treat it as a way to the same shape and not the same pair. Danner lists it as fitting true to size, and it is not waterproof; a waterproof version is sold separately at US$200.
