Factory Entertainment’s GoldenEye prop replica is a 500-piece limited edition of the film’s key device, with a machined aluminium frame, an amber lens that lights from the edge, two keys and a stand. It sold at US$449 in 2020 and may now be sold out.

The GoldenEye weapons system is the film’s central device, and this is a model of it: a limited edition of the key device from GoldenEye, made by Factory Entertainment from a close study of original props in the EON archives. In our view it is a considered piece for a prop collection.

In the film

In GoldenEye, the GoldenEye key devices are stolen from the Severnaya facility by Ourumov and Xenia Onatopp as part of Trevelyan’s plan. The weapon itself is a space-based system with a three-part safeguard.

Owning it now

The replica has a machined aluminium frame with a brushed-effect coating. At its centre is a cast amber polycarbonate lens, and a CD-ROM set into an acrylic mount. Switch it on and it lights the lens from the edge, as on screen. It comes with two keys and a display stand, and it is limited to 500 pieces worldwide.

Price and availability. It was priced at US$449 to US$450 and shipped from May to August 2020. It was sold by Factory Entertainment, Sideshow, Entertainment Earth, the 007 Store and others, and it may now be sold out, so our button runs an eBay search for it.

Alternatives. Factory Entertainment’s Number 1 Blofeld’s Ring Prop Replica and the Safin Mask Prop Replica are alternatives in the same line, from other films, not this one.
