The villain’s car is often the better car. In GoldenEye, Xenia Onatopp drives a red Ferrari F355 GTS, and the Ferrari F355 GTS is the car Bond’s Aston Martin has to keep up with on the mountain roads above Monaco. It is a targa-roof Ferrari from the 1990s, and it is a Bond car you can still find for sale.
In the film
Xenia, played by Famke Janssen, drives the Ferrari in GoldenEye (1995). Our sources agree on this at high confidence: she races Bond through the hills near Monte Carlo, and later arrives at the Yacht Club de Monaco in the car. The one in the film is red, with a tan leather interior and a targa roof. Bond himself is in the Aston Martin, so this page is about the car he chases, not one he owns.
The details
GTS means targa. In the F355 range the GTS is the semi-convertible, with a removable hard top over the roof opening. It sits between the closed Berlinetta and the full Spider.
Manual or F1. The range includes cars with a conventional manual gearbox and cars with a paddle-shift F1 automated manual transmission. A listing for a Euro-specification 1995 GTS shows a six-speed manual, so ask which gearbox any car has before you travel to see it.
Red and tan. The film car combines red paint with a tan interior. It is a classic Ferrari combination and a good thing to specify if you are choosing between cars.
Owning it now
An F355 GTS is out of production and found through classic and specialist listings. The button here is an eBay search; that is a starting point, and our research also shows listings through Bring a Trailer, CarGurus and Classic.com. At the time of writing, October 2026, Classic.com’s benchmark value for a 1997 to 1999 GTS with the F1 transmission was about US$160,970, and one CarGurus listing for a 1998 GTS asked US$230,174. Prices move with condition and mileage.
What to look for. A full service history, evidence of the major service work a Ferrari of this age needs, a roof that seals, and honest photographs of the engine bay. Pay for an independent specialist inspection before you buy.
How to use it. It is a car for dry roads and good company. It looks best unmodified, and best of all driven.
