Some luggage earns its place by not announcing itself. The Globe-Trotter Riviera Centenary holdall, in tan, comes from a maker better known for rigid vulcanised fibreboard cases, and it was photographed on the set of No Time To Die among the luggage on its way into a hotel in Matera. Its place in the finished film is not confirmed, so we treat it as a bag in the spirit of the film rather than a verified piece of screen history.
What can be said with confidence is smaller and more useful. It is a men’s holdall from a maker established in 1897, it belonged to the spring/summer 2019 collection, and it was reported as no longer available in 2020. The rest of this page is about what to do with that.
In the film
Set photographs from Matera show hotel porters carrying Globe-Trotter luggage from the trunk of the Aston Martin DB5 to the hotel: two green suitcases, a carbon fibre trolley case and this holdall. Daniel Craig’s Bond is travelling there with Madeleine Swann, and the bag may belong to either of them, with some sources suggesting it is probably Swann’s. It is not confirmed on screen, and we will not dress it up as more than that.
The details
Globe-Trotter was established in 1897 and makes its luggage by hand in England, best known for vulcanised fibreboard. The Centenary collection celebrates the maker’s signature suitcase, and the holdall carries that name.
This bag belongs to a different part of the range. It was part of Globe-Trotter’s spring/summer 2019 collection of leather bags and accessories, in tan, cut as a men’s holdall. Tan is the quieter choice: warm, unfussy and easy to live with.
We have no published dimensions, materials breakdown or hardware details for this bag, so we have not listed any. If you find one pre-owned, ask the seller for measurements and condition rather than relying on the name.
Carrying the Globe-Trotter Riviera Centenary holdall now
No current retail listing is known to us, so our button runs an eBay search for the holdall. The realistic routes are a pre-owned example, should one surface, or a piece from the maker’s current Centenary range, which includes bags as well as suitcases. See the bags and luggage category for related pieces.
Our view: a tan holdall is the right companion to a hard case. Soft beside rigid is a pairing that looks considered rather than matched, and it leaves the suitcase to do the heavy lifting while the holdall holds what you want to hand. It suits a weekend away, an overnight stay or the second bag on a longer trip.
Keep everything around it quiet. Tan sits easily with navy, grey and green, so let the bag carry the colour and keep the rest restrained.
In the same spirit
If a pre-owned Globe-Trotter does not turn up, two current bags in the same quiet spirit:
- Bennett Winch S.C. Holdall with Suit Carrier in Olive (No Time To Die): a soft holdall made for the same film
- J.Crew Abingdon Weekender Bag in Khaki (Spectre): a plain weekender in khaki

Questions
What is the Globe-Trotter Riviera Centenary holdall?
It is a men’s holdall in tan from Globe-Trotter’s spring/summer 2019 collection of leather bags and accessories. Its Globe-Trotter product code is 714676662065.
Does Bond carry the Globe-Trotter Riviera Centenary holdall in No Time To Die?
Not confirmed. Set photographs from Matera show it among the luggage taken from the DB5 trunk, and it may be Madeleine Swann’s rather than Bond’s. We have not verified it in the finished film.
Can you still buy the Riviera Centenary holdall?
Probably not new. It was reported as no longer available in 2020, and no current listing is known to us. Pre-owned examples may surface, and Globe-Trotter’s current Centenary range includes bags.
More on the film’s wardrobe is on the No Time To Die page and in our Daniel Craig pages.
