Moneypenny’s bag is not the object anyone talks about after No Time To Die, which suits it. The Michael Kors Bond Bancroft satchel is a near-square calf leather bag, made in Italy, with silver-tone hardware and no interest in being noticed. Michael Kors produced it as a limited edition for the film, and it is, in our view, the sort of work bag a considered wardrobe has room for whether or not you remember the scene.
In the film
Naomie Harris’s Moneypenny carries the Bancroft satchel in the London scenes of No Time To Die (2021), and it can just be made out in the background inside Q’s apartment. Michael Kors presents the bag it sells as the same satchel she carries on screen; the edition on sale has a polished MKC x 007 plaque on the interior lining. A screen-used example was later auctioned by Christie’s in its 60 Years of Bond sale in September 2022.
The details of the Michael Kors Bond Bancroft satchel
Calf leather, made in Italy. Michael Kors lists the bag as 100% calf leather. Calf is a fine-grained leather that softens with use, which is what you want from a bag meant to be carried most days.
A near-square shape. It measures 12in wide, 12in high and 6.5in deep (roughly 30cm by 30cm by 16.5cm). That is closer to a squared-off carryall than a slim attaché case, and it gives the bag a roomy interior.
Silver-tone hardware. Cooler than brass, and quieter against navy, charcoal and black. It keeps the bag on the right side of formal.
A short handle drop. The handle drop is 5in (about 13cm), so this is a bag for the hand or the crook of the arm, not one to sling on the shoulder.
The plaque. Inside the lining sits a polished MKC x 007 plaque. Only the owner will ever see it, which is where a mark of this kind belongs.
Using it now
We would treat this as a work bag first and a film object second. Carried with a grey or navy suit, or with a coat and knitwear at the weekend, it reads as a well-made leather bag and nothing more. Nobody needs to know where it came from unless you choose to tell them. It also makes a precise gift for anyone who watched Moneypenny carry it and wants the bag itself rather than a reference.

Care. Calf leather dislikes rain and prolonged sun. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth, stuff it lightly with tissue or keep it in a dust bag when it is stored, and let it dry naturally if it does get wet.
