A good soundtrack outlasts the film it was written for, and this one is built for repeat listening. The No Time To Die soundtrack is Hans Zimmer’s first Bond score, written with Johnny Marr, who also plays guitar throughout, and with additional music by Steve Mazzaro. Decca Records released it on 1 October 2021, and it runs to 21 tracks and just over an hour and ten minutes, ending with Billie Eilish’s title song.
Owning it now
The score is dark and unhurried, with plenty of space around the melodies, which suits a quiet evening better than a party. We would play it through once, start to finish, rather than shuffle it. The album has been issued as a standard vinyl LP, a limited picture disc, gold vinyl, a gold cassette and a CD, so choose the format that suits the way you listen. We would take vinyl for a room with a decent turntable and the CD for the car.
Stock changes by format, and some pressings sell out, so check availability before you set your heart on one. More music and printed matter sits in Books and Media, and the film itself is covered on our No Time To Die page.
