The Aston Martin DB5 is the Bond car most often reduced to 1:32, and the Scalextric C3163A is the GoldenEye one. It is the third car in a three-car limited-edition collector series from Scalextric: the Goldfinger edition (C3091A), the Casino Royale edition (C3162A) and this one, the DB5 as it appears in GoldenEye.
Owning it now
The film car carried the registration BMT 214A, and three cars were used in the filming: one for close-ups and two stunt cars for the opening chase. The Scalextric is a silver 1:32 slot car, with Magnatraction, working Xenon-effect headlights and working rear lights. It is a limited edition, listed by two retailers at 3,500 pieces, though one dealer gives a different number, so we would treat the figure as approximate.
Where to find it. It is out of production, and retailers such as GT Slot Cars list it as out of stock. Our button runs an eBay search for the model, which is where new and used examples appear. One listing notes that this car is not digital plug ready, so check that against your own track.
Collecting it. A limited-edition slot car is best kept in its box on a shelf. If you want to race a DB5, the Scalextric Aston Martin DB5 Limited Edition C3162A is the nearest alternative on this site; it is the car from a different film, not this one.
