The Aston Martin DBS and the Alfa Romeo 159 both appear in Quantum of Solace, and the Scalextric Quantum of Solace set, reference C2922A, puts the pair in one limited edition presentation box. It is a small object for a study shelf, a keepsake of Daniel Craig’s Bond, and a sound gift for anyone who grew up with slot cars.
Owning the Scalextric Quantum of Solace set
The box holds the two cars from Quantum of Solace, with working headlights and taillights. Power comes from an FC130 endbell-drive motor. Our view: display them as a pair, nose to tail, and run them only if you have a track to hand. The retailer’s listing describes two cars in a presentation box and mentions no track, so check before you buy if racing is the plan.
One point of confusion. Scalextric’s own history lists a 2008 Micro Scalextric Quantum of Solace set (C1222) with a figure-of-eight circuit. C2922A is a different reference, sold as a twin-car box, and it suits a collector more than a racer.
It sits well beside the rest of our toys and collectibles, and for more on the actor, see Daniel Craig.
