She is the destination in a Haiti sequence in Quantum of Solace, the larger yacht that Medrano’s boat is trying to reach, and she is a far more serious vessel than her screen time suggests. A 121-foot tri-deck built in Poole, she is in our view the quietest way into the world of the British superyacht.
In the film
In Quantum of Solace (2008), General Medrano and his men take Camille across the water in a Sunseeker Superhawk 43, heading for the larger yacht. Daniel Craig’s Bond rams the side of the smaller boat before it gets there. The M4 is in the frame as the destination rather than the action, so treat her as a presence in the scene, not a vehicle Bond uses.
The details of the Sunseeker 37 Metre Yacht M4
Proportion. At 36.89m overall (121ft) with a beam of 8m, she carries three decks on a long hull. Sunseeker Design styled the interior; Don Shead was the naval architect.
Speed. Hull and superstructure are both composite. Two MTU 12V 4000 M90 diesels, 2,735hp each, give a top speed of around 27 knots and a cruise of about 23. For a yacht of 301 gross tonnes, that is brisk.
Shallow draught. CharterWorld describes her as shallow, at 2.4m (7.1ft). That draught lets her work closer inshore than a deeper hull would.
Class and code. She is classed with RINA and surveyed to the MCA Large Yacht Code (LY2), the large commercial yacht standard. It is a useful line on the record if you are considering charter use.
Accommodation. Sources list ten guests with a crew of six. YachtBuyer describes the model as sleeping ten in five cabins, though individual boats vary because the 37 Metre was a semi-custom build.
Owning it now
This is not a purchase in the ordinary sense. Sunseeker launched the 37 Metre at the London International Boat Show in 2007, and a boat like this is sold by brokers rather than from a showroom. YachtBuyer’s listing page for the model shows asking prices from about US$5.9 million to US$10.8 million for examples at the time of writing (October 2026), and we would treat that as a guide rather than a quote.
The button on this page runs an eBay search for the Sunseeker 37 Metre, which turns up models, brochures and memorabilia. If the idea is the thing, chartering is the sensible first step. Megayacht News describes the M4 as popular on the charter circuit, though we have not confirmed that she is available now. Whether you charter or buy, ask for the survey history, engine hours and a full MCA and class record. Paperwork in order is part of what you are paying for.
Be careful with the name. Another Sunseeker also called M4, a 75ft boat built in 2015, is listed for sale by IYC. It is a different vessel.
