Berenice Marlohe’s Severine wears the Black Bamboo earrings and pendant on the Skyfall poster, and our catalogue records the earrings in the casino scenes in Macau. They were part of a collection Swarovski made with the jewellery designer Stephen Webster, inspired by the film.
The details
Black and clear crystal. The earrings combine jet hematite and clear crystal in Swarovski’s Pointiage setting, a technique in which stones are set by hand and are said to give extra sparkle.
The bamboo shape. The design is bamboo-inspired, and the earrings are about 7cm long. That length is the point: they are a drop earring, not a stud.
A wider collection. The range included a pendant, a bangle and rings as well as the earrings. The Black Bamboo pendant and earrings were each US$170 at launch.
Wearing it now
Long dark earrings suit an evening dress in black, navy or deep green, worn with hair up and nothing else on the neckline. They are strongest alone; skip the necklace. The collection dates from 2012 and is out of production, so these are found second-hand; check the condition of the crystals and the clasp carefully.
