The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is the car Pierce Brosnan’s Bond drives in Die Another Day, fitted by Q-Branch with extras that no showroom would admit to. The Toy State Q-Branch Vanquish is a Die Another Day toy car in that spirit: a roughly 13-inch model with lights and sound effects, made for the film’s release and long since out of production.
Using it now
This is a shelf piece, or a present for someone who grew up with the Brosnan films. It has no remote control, so its appeal is the car itself and its sound and light effects rather than anything it can do across a floor. If you want a driving version, Toy State also made a ready-to-run 1:18 radio-control Vanquish, which is a separate product.
Because the toy is out of production, condition and completeness matter more than the asking price. Ask for photographs of the underside and the battery compartment, and check that the lights and sound work before you pay. At the time of writing, a retail listing we found for it was out of stock, and second-hand copies on eBay vary widely in price.
Display it somewhere it can be seen from the side. A glass-fronted shelf or a plain wooden desk suits a car this size better than a crowded cabinet.
