In Skyfall, Daniel Craig’s Bond shaves the slow way: brush, black wooden bowl, razor. The bowl appears to be the Trumper Eucris shaving soap, which is still sold today. On the retail bowl a Eucris label sits on the lid; in the prop display it is absent, so it reads as plain black wood. It is a small piece of the film, and one of the few you can use every morning.
Using the Trumper Eucris shaving soap now
Eucris is a glycerine-based hard soap, scented to match Trumper’s Eucris eau de toilette. It asks for a badger brush and a little water worked into a lather, in the bowl or on the face. Trumper’s barbers suggest shaving after a bath or shower, which is sensible advice whatever the razor.
We would buy the bowl once and then the 80g refill, which Trumper sells separately. The bowl is a quiet object on a bathroom shelf or a washstand. For more of the same, browse our grooming and fragrance selection.
