The Galco Executive is the shoulder holster Pierce Brosnan’s Bond wears under his jacket in Tomorrow Never Dies, and it carries his Walther PPK. The Galco Executive shoulder holster is also associated with GoldenEye, and a reference site adds The World Is Not Enough.
In the film
Bond wears the Executive in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) for the PPK; a Facebook post calls it prominent in this film. A forum thread notes that in the stealth boat scenes he uses a custom snap-top belt holster for the P99 instead.
The details
The design. A clamshell leather design with a tension screw to adjust how firmly the gun is held. The catalogue lists black Italian calf leather harness, available for right or left hand.
The reputation. Owners on forums call it the best shoulder holster made for the PPK, with the sad addendum that Galco stopped making it. One poster found a supplier with it for the PPK.
Wearing it now
A shoulder holster only works under a jacket that fits, so cut matters more than the holster. It sits best under a lightly structured, unlined jacket in a dark wool, with the harness worn over a plain shirt. It is a working carrying system, not an accessory for display, and it is subject to local law wherever you live.
Because the original is out of production, we would treat a second-hand Executive as a collector’s purchase and check the stitching, the tension screw and the leather for age. For something new in the same spirit, the Vega IB333 Holster is on the site as an alternative; it is not the holster from this film, and Galco’s shoulder holster systems remain on its own site.
