The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Bose SoundLink Revolve Bluetooth Speaker in Black (No Time To Die)

Bose’s first-generation SoundLink Revolve is a compact Bluetooth speaker that sends its sound out in every direction. It sits on Q’s desk in No Time To Die, small and unshowy, and it earns a place at home for the same reason: it fills a room without announcing itself.

Not everything in a Bond film is there to be noticed. The Bose SoundLink Revolve speaker is one of those things: a black cylinder on the desk in Q’s house in No Time To Die, easy to miss and worth a second look. Ben Whishaw’s Q has it on his desk, which is about as much as the film asks of it. It is a quiet piece of kit, and we rather like it for that.

Using the Bose SoundLink Revolve speaker now

The Revolve sends sound out in 360 degrees, so it works best placed in the middle of a room rather than pushed against a wall. A kitchen counter, a desk or a terrace table all suit it. At 1.5lb it carries easily from one to the next, and Bose quotes up to 12 hours of battery, enough for a long day without a cable.

Which one to buy. The speaker in the film appears to be the original black model, which is the one we list. Bose’s successor, the Revolve II, has been sold since 2021, and Bose quotes up to 13 hours of battery and an IP55 rating for it. If matching the film matters less to you than a later model, the II is the easier route. The original is still listed at Amazon.

More from the film is in our guide to No Time To Die, and more of the same kind of thing in Gadgets & Electronics. Bose sets out the original’s details in its own announcement.
