Daniel Craig’s Bond has a wooden villa in Jamaica in No Time To Die (2021), and its living room stereo set is believed to include the Marantz PM6010 OSE: a 1999 integrated amplifier that asks for no attention and gives a good deal back. It is, in our view, a sensible object to want.
The amplifier is visible in the set photographer’s pictures; we cannot say how clearly it reads on screen. See the film page for the wider setting.
Owning the Marantz PM6010 OSE now
This is an amplifier for a man who wants a real music system rather than a speaker on a shelf. It is rated at 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with a frequency response of 5Hz to 70kHz, and it weighs 6.7kg. Owners describe a solid metal chassis and a warm, even sound. Its remote controls volume only, so input selection is by hand, which we rather like.
It dates from 1999 and is out of production, so the market is second-hand, and the button on this page searches eBay for it. Check that the controls are clean and the speaker outputs are sound before you buy, and expect a modest price. In our view, a pair of floor-standing speakers is the natural partner.
