The Trumper Eucris Eau de Toilette is the scent Bond comes across in Marc-Ange Draco’s bathroom in Marseille, in Ian Fleming’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Geo. F. Trumper still makes it, and it is one of the few Fleming details you can simply buy.
In the books
Bond finds a bottle of Mr Trumper’s Eucris on Draco’s shelf, with the rest of the bathroom’s English kit. The detail suits Fleming: a Marseille crime boss who keeps a London barber’s fragrance by the basin. The catalogue notes that the black-glass bottle with its crown top is still produced, virtually unchanged.
Wearing it now
Trumper describes the scent as sandalwood, musk and moss, with a heart of jasmine and muguet and a peppery top of cumin, coriander and blackcurrant. Its base notes are sandalwood, patchouli and amber. The bottle is black glass, unique to Trumper’s range. It is a warm, old-fashioned scent rather than a fresh one, and we would wear it in the evening or in cool weather. It costs £75 at Trumper (at the time of writing, October 2026).

In the same spirit
From the same house, the Eucris hard shaving soap carries the same scent. It is made by Trumper, not an alternative, and it is not the bottle from the book.
