Not every Bond object is a car or a watch. Some are small things in the hands of minor characters, and the Dunhill filter holder is one of them. It is a slim cigarette holder with a crystal filter, a piece of mid-century craft that has little place in daily life now and plenty in a collection.
In the books
Tiger Tanaka uses a Dunhill filter holder in Fleming’s You Only Live Twice (1964). In The Living Daylights, Captain Sender smokes through a Dunhill filtered cigarette holder. Neither is Bond’s, and the books do not name a model. See the films for where the stories became pictures.
Finding one now
Dunhill’s White Spot holders are slim, made in Britain, with 6mm filters and a metal thread; one maker listing gives the length as 96mm. Two current examples sit around £50 to £55 at The Backy Shop (a short black holder and a slim ejector, October 2026), and a 10-pack of White Spot crystal filters is £6.20. Because the books do not specify a model, the holder here is the type, not a single reference. The exact vintage pieces are found second-hand, so our link is an eBay search. We would choose a holder that comes with its box and a few filters, since replacement mouthpieces are sold separately.
