Not every Bond watch is a statement. In Spectre, Daniel Craig’s Bond wears a steel Aqua Terra with a blue dial patterned like a ship’s teak deck: dressy enough for a suit, sturdy enough for a Thames chase. The Omega Aqua Terra Spectre watch is, in our view, the one to choose if you want a single steel watch for every day of the week.
In the film
Bond wears reference 231.10.42.21.03.003 in Spectre (2015), including in Mexico with the windowpane suit, when meeting M in London and on the Thames river chase. The screen-used watch was offered at Christie’s Sixty Years of Bond auction. An Aqua Terra appears again in No Time To Die (2021), in the Matera sequences, but the exact reference there is not confirmed, so we describe it as the same family rather than the same watch.
The details of the Omega Aqua Terra Spectre watch
The dial. The blue is sun-brushed and lacquered, finished with Omega’s Teak Concept pattern, which recalls the wooden decks of sailing yachts. A date window sits at 3 o’clock.
Proportions. The steel case is 41.5mm across, 12.95mm thick and 48.5mm lug to lug, with 20mm between the lugs. In our view that suits a shirt cuff and still reads at a glance.
The movement. Omega’s calibre 8500 is a self-winding Master Co-Axial chronometer with a 60-hour power reserve. It resists magnetic fields above 15,000 gauss, and you can see it through the transparent caseback.
Built to be used. The domed sapphire crystal has anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the crown screws down, and water resistance is 150m. The steel bracelet closes with a butterfly clasp, and the whole watch weighs about 134g.
Wearing it now
This is a watch for navy suits, grey flannel and open-collared shirts, and just as good with a knit and chinos. It dresses up without trying and dresses down without apology. We would wear it on its steel bracelet, as in the film, and keep a navy or grey NATO-style strap in a drawer for summer.
Omega lists this reference as no longer available, so the route to one is the pre-owned market, and our button runs an eBay search on the reference number. Buy with the box and papers if you can, and from a dealer who authenticates what they sell. For the later film, see our No Time To Die page, and for more from the same era, Daniel Craig.

Questions
Which Omega does Bond wear in Spectre?
Bond wears the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial, reference 231.10.42.21.03.003, with a blue dial and steel bracelet. It appears in the Mexico sequence, when he meets M in London and on the Thames chase.
Is it the same watch as in No Time To Die?
We cannot say for certain. An Aqua Terra is worn in No Time To Die, and it is probably the same or a very similar watch, but the exact reference has not been confirmed.
Is the Aqua Terra 231.10.42.21.03.003 still made?
No. Omega’s own page lists it as no longer available, so it is now a pre-owned purchase.
Is it a dive watch?
Not strictly. It is water resistant to 150m with a screw-in crown, but Omega presents it as a classic, robust watch with a maritime heritage rather than a diver. We would call it a dress-leaning sports watch.
