The Folio Society has been issuing Ian Fleming’s Bond novels as illustrated hardbacks since 2015, one or two titles a year. If you read Fleming for the prose rather than the plot, The Folio Society James Bond Collection is the way to own him: the same stories, properly bound.
In the books
These are Fleming’s original novels, from Casino Royale, which carries an introduction by John Banville, through Moonraker, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and on to Octopussy and The Living Daylights. Each volume has colour illustrations by Fay Dalton. Folio presents them as darker and more emotionally complex than the films suggest. See the films for how they were adapted.
Owning it now
Each book is a hardcover in a pictorial slipcase, bound in blocked cloth, with seven colour illustrations by Fay Dalton. Folio lists the volumes at £55 each in October 2026. We would start with the novel you already know best and let the shelf grow, rather than buy the set at once. Titles come out in order of Folio’s schedule, so the later volumes arrive slowly; there is a Folio page that tracks the full collection.
