The gloves Daniel Craig’s Bond wears in Skyfall ask for no attention, which is why they work. Black, unlined and cut close to the hand, they sit under the cuff of an overcoat and do their job unremarked. Dents sells the pair as the Daniel, and the Dents Daniel gloves (product code 5-1007) are, in our view, the most sensible piece of Bond’s wardrobe a man can buy.
In the film
Bond wears black Dents unlined leather gloves in Skyfall (2012), in the Shanghai airport scene and again on the London rooftop. Dents itself describes the style as the glove Craig wore in the film. The model has been renamed over the years, from the Unlined Glove to the Bond and now the Daniel.
The details of the Dents Daniel gloves
Hairsheep leather. The skin comes from sheep that grow hair rather than wool, which leaves the leather fine-grained and free of marks. It is strong, supple and generally regarded as the best leather for gloves. Here it is left plain, with no decoration of any kind.
No lining. With nothing between hand and leather, the glove fits closer and grips better. The trade is warmth: this is a glove for wind, rain and a cold morning, not for deep winter.
Inseam stitching. The seams are sewn on the inside, so the fingers are smooth to look at and to touch. It is the detail that makes a plain glove look made rather than merely assembled.
Palm vent. A small vent in the palm eases the fit around the wrist, which matters in a glove cut this close.
Welted cuff. A thin band of leather is sewn into the cuff to give the edge strength where gloves are tugged hardest. The length stops just above the wrist, so it sits comfortably beneath a coat sleeve.
Wearing it now
Black leather is the formal choice and belongs with dark cloth: a navy or charcoal overcoat, a dark suit, black shoes. We would not pair them with a tan covert coat and brown brogues; that is a job for brown or tan gloves. They work just as well with a peacoat and a plain roll neck, where a slim black glove looks deliberate rather than dressy.
When. Being unlined, they suit the commute, the walk from the car and the cold, dry day. For a hard winter, choose a lined pair and keep these for the rest of the year. They are thin enough to leave on for a handshake or to take out a set of keys.
Fit. Dents cuts this as its closest fit, so size with care. Measure around the widest part of your dominant hand, excluding the thumb, and check Dents’ size chart. If you fall between sizes, Dents advises rounding down, because the leather stretches slightly with use. We agree: an unlined glove should fit like a second skin.
Care. If they get wet, let them dry naturally, away from radiators and direct heat.

Questions
Are these the gloves Bond wears in Skyfall?
Yes. Dents says the Daniel is the glove worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall, and our records place black Dents unlined gloves on Bond in the Shanghai airport scene and on the London rooftop.
Are the Dents Daniel gloves lined?
No. They are unlined, which gives a closer fit and better grip but less warmth. They suit cool, damp weather better than deep cold.
What size should I buy?
Measure around the widest part of your dominant hand, excluding the thumb, and match it to Dents’ size chart. The cut is slim, and Dents suggests rounding down if you are between sizes.
How much do Dents Daniel gloves cost?
RRP at the time of writing, October 2026, is US$182 on Dents’ US site. Prices differ by retailer and region, so check before you buy.
