Pierce Brosnan’s Bond skis in The World Is Not Enough in a dark olive one-piece suit made by Omega Outdoor Agencies, a British maker, and it is a surprisingly good piece of colour. Olive on snow reads as military and quiet, and the Omega Outdoor Agencies ski suit is the reason the scene looks as it does.

In the film

Bond wears the suit during the ski chase with Elektra King in the Caucasus. It comes with a gadget from Q-Branch: an inflatable bubble for avalanche protection. In the lab, R demonstrates it as part of a ski jacket, but Bond wears it in a jumpsuit on the slopes. Promotional photography showed him in a pair of Sorel Caribou boots with it.

The details

Dark olive. The suit is a manmade fabric in dark olive green, with a black lining.

The fastening. It has a two-way zip and a belt with a metal clasp, which gives a one-piece suit a waist.

Wearing it now

The Omega Outdoor Agencies ski suit is not made now, and we would not chase a used example for the slopes, where modern waterproofing matters more than film provenance. The part to borrow is the palette: dark olive shell, black lining and accessories, plain leather gloves, and a belted waist. Bond Suits notes that a one-piece may be more practical than separates, and olive is a calmer choice than neon.

If you do want the suit itself, it is found second-hand. Check the zips, the belt clasp and the seams first, since a suit this age may have lost its waterproofing. Think of it as a collector’s piece for display.
