The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Artemide Tizio 50 Table Lamp, Black (No Time To Die)

In No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s Bond has a black Tizio on a table by the ocean-view windows of his Jamaican villa, set at full stretch. Richard Sapper designed the lamp in 1971, and the 50 is the original and best-known version.

Most of what fills a room in a film is there to look right. The Artemide Tizio 50 table lamp is there to work. In No Time To Die, Daniel Craig’s Bond has a black Tizio on a table near the ocean-view windows of his Jamaican villa, both arms stretched to their longest reach.

The size appears to be the large Tizio 50, and the light the halogen version rather than the LED. That rests on images from the film, so we would treat it as a close match, not a certainty.

Richard Sapper designed the lamp in 1971 and Artemide still makes it. The 50 refers to the wattage of the halogen bulb. Its arms are held in balance by counterweights.

It earns its place on a desk, or on a side table by a window where the reach is useful. We would keep it black, as in the film, and let it be the one sculptural object in an otherwise plain room. Extend the arms fully only where there is space; the lamp is at its best when the surfaces around it are clear.

Check the version before you buy. The reference below is the 50W halogen with an on/off switch on the base, for 120V supplies. Artemide makes Tizio in several sizes and colours, so confirm voltage and bulb type for your country. More for the considered home is in Home & Interiors.
