Some of the most useful pieces in a Bond film are the ones you notice only on a second viewing. The Carbon Tactics Quicky buckle is one of them: a black buckle on a black belt, closed by a magnet. It is a small, working object, and in our view a more interesting one than most of what gets the attention.
In the film
Lashana Lynch’s Nomi wears the black Quicky with a black belt as part of her commando outfit in No Time To Die. Both are visible in a promotional photograph of the outfit. Carbon Tactics says its Quicky and Epoch buckles are worn by Daniel Craig’s Bond and Nomi in the film. The Quicky is the one we can place on Nomi, so it is the one covered here. The details
A magnetic closure. Carbon Tactics launched the Quicky on Kickstarter, calling it the world’s first magnetic tactical belt. The magnet makes it quick to fasten and to release, which is where the name comes from.
Black, and nothing else. The buckle in the film is black and sits on a black belt, so the whole closure reads as one dark line. That restraint suits practical clothes, where the belt should be useful rather than noticed.
A small maker. Carbon Tactics says it designs, manufactures and tests its gear in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and describes itself as founded on Kickstarter.
Finding one
The Quicky is out of production. Carbon Tactics sold it as a buckle on its own (US$29) or with a belt (US$60), and it is no longer listed by the maker, so a Quicky now means a second-hand search. The button on this page runs one on eBay. If you find one, the right choice is the black buckle on a black belt, as Nomi wears it.
Wearing it now
It belongs with practical clothes: black or charcoal technical trousers, a field jacket, boots, a bag worn across the body. We would not wear it with tailoring. A magnetic buckle is a piece of working kit and looks best on working clothes. The idea to take is a single dark line at the waist, with nothing shining on it.
In the same spirit
If a second-hand Quicky does not turn up, the maker’s own Carbon Tactics Epoch Buckle is a current buckle from the same company and credited to the same film. It is an alternative, not the buckle Nomi wears.

Questions
Which belt buckle does Nomi wear in No Time To Die?
Nomi wears a black Carbon Tactics Quicky magnetic buckle on a black belt with her commando outfit. Carbon Tactics also credits its Epoch buckle to the film.
Can you still buy the Carbon Tactics Quicky?
Not new. It is out of production, so it turns up second-hand. The maker’s Epoch buckle remains in its range.
How does a magnetic belt buckle work?
A magnet holds the two halves together, so you close it by bringing them together and open it by separating them.
Does Bond wear the Quicky as well?
Carbon Tactics says Bond and Nomi both wear its Quicky and Epoch buckles in the film. The Quicky is the model we can place on Nomi, so we have not attributed it to Bond.
