The Carte Blanche Bentley Special Edition is the other collector’s book made with Bentley Motors for a Bond novel. Hodder & Stoughton and Bentley celebrated the release of Jeffery Deaver’s Carte Blanche in 2011 with an edition limited to 500 copies.
In the books
The text is Deaver’s Carte Blanche, in which Bond drives a new Bentley Continental GT. The edition is built around the car.
Owning it now
The book was sold worldwide at £1,000 each. It comes in white leather, or red in a related version, inside a shaped metal box that echoes the outline of the new Continental GT, with a die-cut bullet hole through the box. A bullet in the text block is etched with the limitation number. One bookseller records the text printed in two colours with a Bentley illustration running along the lower margin. An AbeBooks listing for a white copy was US$1,339.52, and our button runs an eBay search. We would check that the bullet and the number match before paying.
