The Folio Society Casino Royale is the illustrated edition of Ian Fleming’s first Bond novel, published on 6 October 2015 as the opening title in the Society’s Ian Fleming collection. Fay Dalton’s artwork and an introduction by the Booker Prize-winning novelist John Banville set it apart from a standard paperback.
In the books
The novel is the one in which Bond plays baccarat against Le Chiffre, and Dalton’s illustrations follow that story: a frontispiece and six colour plates.
Owning it now
This is the edition to give or to keep on a shelf rather than carry. It runs to 192 pages and is bound in blocked cloth, with a pictorial slipcase. The Society also issued a 70th-anniversary limited edition in blocked leather, limited to 750 copies with an introduction by Kim Sherwood, but that is out of stock. We would choose the standard edition: it costs a fraction of the limited one and reads just as well. The Canadian site lists it at CA$110 (at the time of writing, October 2026). Browse the rest of our books and media for the other titles, or see the Bonds for the screen versions of Fleming’s hero.
