The Folio Society Moonraker is Ian Fleming’s third Bond novel dressed for the shelf: bound in blocked cloth, boxed in a pictorial slipcase and illustrated throughout by Fay Dalton. It is a reader’s edition first and a collector’s piece second, and we would keep it that way.
In the books
This is a Fleming novel, not a film tie-in. M asks Bond to find out why Sir Hugo Drax, a self-made millionaire whose gift of a nuclear warhead promises Britain a safer decade, cheats at cards. When two men die at the Moonraker plant just days before the weapon’s practice shoot, the errand becomes something much larger. Dalton’s frontispiece and six colour plates follow the story.
Owning it now
Book collectors tend to buy this series one volume at a time, and Moonraker stands up on its own: 256 pages, 9 inches by 6¼, set in Miller Text with a bold condensed face for display. Folio published it on 11 October 2017 and sells it direct. It sits comfortably with the other illustrated Fleming volumes, and with our wider books and media pages. On Folio’s Canadian site it is CA$110 (October 2026); check your own region for local pricing.
