Not every piece of the wardrobe worn by Daniel Craig’s Bond needs a story. In No Time To Die, a pair of braces does the plain, useful work of holding up a pair of combat trousers, and does it so unobtrusively that they are easy to miss. That is the appeal. The N.Peal 007 braces are grey, adjustable and cotton-based, and they are, in our view, the easiest part of the commando outfit to live with.
In the film
Bond wears them in No Time To Die (2021), as part of the commando outfit: the combat trousers, a blue sweater and the braces holding the trousers up. N.Peal released them in September 2021 alongside its 007 Combat Trousers, and lists them as the pair worn by Bond in the film.
The details of the N.Peal 007 braces
Cotton with a little give. The braces are made from 97% cotton and 3% latex elastane. Cotton suits a shirt or knit, and the small amount of elastane lets them move with you rather than pulling at the waistband when you sit, reach or climb stairs.
Adjustable length. The sizing can be adjusted, so there is no guessing at a measurement. Braces only work if they carry the weight of the trousers properly, and an adjustable pair lets you set that once and forget it.
Made to match the trousers. They are sold to go with N.Peal’s 007 Combat Trousers, and the sources we have read say they attach to them and match them in colour. The practical result is that the two read as one outfit, not a trouser and an afterthought.
A quiet grey. The colour is a plain grey, which is the point. It sits behind a sweater or a shirt and does not compete with either, and it works with navy, olive, charcoal and brown without effort.
Wearing it now
Braces suit a man who prefers his trousers to stay where he put them. Worn properly, they let trousers sit at the natural waist and hang cleanly, with no belt cutting across the middle. We would not wear braces and a belt together; choose one.
With the trousers. The obvious pairing is N.Peal’s own combat trousers and a blue knit, as on screen. It is a good weekend uniform for autumn and winter: practical, a little military, entirely unshowy.
With everything else. Grey braces over a plain white or blue shirt with flannel or cord trousers look just as natural, and a sweater over the top hides them altogether, which some men will prefer. If you pair them with other trousers, check how the braces fasten before you buy, since N.Peal only states that they attach to its own combat trousers.
Which version? N.Peal’s 007 listing is in grey only, so there is little to decide. Buy them with the trousers if you want the full look from the film, or on their own if you simply want a good, plain pair of braces. We think they work better as a separate piece than as a costume.
Care. They are cotton and elastane, so keep them away from heat and follow the care instructions supplied.

Questions
Are these the braces Bond wears in No Time To Die?
Yes. N.Peal sells them as the braces worn by Bond in the film, where they are worn with the combat trousers and blue sweater of the commando outfit.
Are braces the same as suspenders?
Yes. Braces is the British word and suspenders the American one. N.Peal uses braces; the same item is often listed as suspenders in the US.
What are the N.Peal 007 braces made of?
They are 97% cotton and 3% latex elastane. The small elastane content gives a little stretch, and the length is adjustable.
How much do the N.Peal 007 braces cost?
RRP at the time of writing, in October 2026, is £50 in the UK, €60 in the EU and US$70 in the US. Each region has its own N.Peal site, so shop on the one for your country.
