The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Omega De Ville Prestige Quartz 27.4mm Hunter Green (No Time To Die)

A 27.4mm stainless steel quartz watch with a silvery opaline dial and a hunter green alligator strap. Naomie Harris’s Moneypenny wears it in No Time To Die, and Omega now lists it as no longer available, so it is one to track down from a reputable retailer.

Moneypenny’s watch is the quiet one. In No Time To Die, Naomie Harris’s Eve Moneypenny wears a small steel Omega on a dark green strap with her London office outfit. The Omega De Ville Prestige in No Time To Die is a dress watch in the old sense: slim, pale-dialled and easy to forget until the light catches it. Omega has since stopped selling it, and we think it is one of the more worthwhile Bond-adjacent watches to look for.

In the film

Moneypenny wears this watch in No Time To Die (2021). It completes her London office outfit, alongside a brown leather skirt, and can also be seen on her character poster. Omega’s own Lifetime magazine names the exact model as the 27.4mm quartz reference 424.13.27.60.52.002 on a dark green leather strap. The watch belongs to Moneypenny, not to Daniel Craig’s Bond.

The details of the Omega De Ville Prestige

A pale, textured dial. The dial is white-silvery with a silk-like pattern and an opaline finish, so it has depth without any gloss. It reads as soft rather than bright, which is the right register for a watch this size.

Blackened detail. The faceted hands are blackened, as are the Roman numerals. Six of the hour markers are diamond-set. Against the pale dial the contrast is crisp and legible, and the diamonds stay in the background.

A small, thin case. The stainless steel case is 27.4mm across and 6.60mm thick, with 31.70mm from lug to lug. It slides under a cuff, and at about 23g in total it is easy to forget you have it on.

Hunter green alligator. The strap is dark green alligator with a grained calf underside, fastened with a steel pin buckle. It is the single decision that separates this from a conventional steel dress watch, and it is what makes the watch recognisable on screen.

Quartz, by choice. Inside is Omega’s Calibre 1376, a quartz movement with a rhodium-plated finish. Omega quotes a battery life of 48 months. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and water resistance is 3 bar (30m), enough for rain and hand-washing but not for swimming.

Wearing it now

This is a small watch, and it is best understood as a woman’s dress watch, or a gift for one who knows the film. We would not pretend otherwise. If it is for you, wear it where it belongs: with camel, navy, brown suede and tweed, the colours that make a green strap look deliberate. A tailored coat and a silk blouse suit it as well as a knitted dress does.

Strap choices. The green is the point, and we would keep it. Omega listed alternative 14mm alligator straps in dark blue, brown and taupe brown, which would suit a quieter wardrobe, but they would take the watch away from the one on screen.

Why quartz works here. A dress watch is often worn only occasionally. A quartz movement keeps correct time through a week in a drawer, and it needs a new battery only about every four years.

Buying one. Omega’s own page lists the watch as no longer available, so you are looking at retailers with stock. Ask for the box, papers and original strap, and confirm the reference reads 424.13.27.60.52.002 before you commit. Prices vary between sellers, and we would compare several.
