The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Omega Speedmaster Racing Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 44.25mm (No Time To Die)

Felix Leiter’s chronograph in No Time To Die: a 44.25mm steel Omega Speedmaster Racing on a leather strap, with a matt black dial and the racing-style minute track that names it. It is the Bond-world watch for a man who would rather not wear Bond’s own.

In No Time To Die, not every watch is on the wrist of Daniel Craig’s Bond. Felix Leiter wears an Omega Speedmaster Racing: a 44.25mm steel chronograph with a matt black dial marked with the racing-style minute track that gives the line its name. The Omega Speedmaster Racing No Time To Die watch is a large, quick-reading chronograph, and in our view it suits a man who wants some pace in a watch more than he wants Bond’s own.

In the film

Jeffrey Wright’s Felix Leiter wears it in the Jamaica scenes of No Time To Die, where he meets Bond. Our sources identify the watch as the Speedmaster Racing Co-Axial Master Chronometer, reference 329.32.44.51.01.001, and that is the model Omega sells today.

The details of the Omega Speedmaster Racing

A racing dial. The dial is matt black, so it throws back little glare, and it carries the minute track in the style of a racing-car stopwatch. That track is the reason for the name, and the reason the watch reads as quick and legible rather than formal.

Size. The steel case is 44.25mm across and 14.92mm thick. That is a large watch by any measure, and it is the one thing to settle before buying.

On leather. This reference comes on a leather strap, which suits the sporting character of the dial and keeps the look relaxed.

Water resistance. It is rated to 50m. That covers rain and a washed hand. We would keep it out of the pool.

Wearing it now

This is a weekend and travel watch. It suits the clothes of a long lunch or a drive: a linen shirt with the sleeves turned back, a navy knit polo, chinos, suede loafers. The black dial keeps it neutral enough that the steel does the talking.

Leather or steel? Omega also sells the Racing in the same 44.25mm size on a steel bracelet (329.30.44.51.01.001, US$10,800 RRP at the time of writing, October 2026). We would choose the leather. It is the version Leiter wears, and it keeps the weight down on a big case.

Fit. At 14.92mm thick it will not slide under a fitted cuff, so wear it with rolled sleeves or a looser shirt. If your wrist is slim, try it on first.

New or pre-owned? At the time of writing, pre-owned examples are listed on Chrono24 from about US$5,500, against Omega’s RRP of US$10,400. If you buy used, look for the box and papers.
