Q’s house in No Time To Die is full of working equipment, and among it, high on a bookshelf, sits a pair of Pioneer DJ DM-40 speakers. They are easy to miss, which suits them. The Pioneer DJ DM-40 is a small, curved-front desktop monitor system that asks for very little room and gives a desk a proper stereo pair.
Using it now
These are made for a DJ or a bedroom producer, and the review we read describes the sound as bass-forward and warm: better for electronic music than for critical mixing work. That is a fair brief for a study, a kitchen counter or a small flat where a full hi-fi would take over. Pair them with a laptop or a turntable and leave them on a shelf, as Q does.
The left-hand speaker carries the amplifier and the controls, including a headphone output and volume knob on the front, so only one cable runs between the two cabinets. Inputs are RCA and a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack. Two ports on the front mean they can sit close to a wall without choking. It comes as a pair, in black or white.
