The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Tyrol

Tyrol is the Austrian heart of the Alps, with glaciers, cable cars and ski villages. The series has used Sölden’s glacier road, a glass-walled mountain-top restaurant and the quiet villages of East Tyrol.
Base yourself in Sölden and take the cable car to the Gaislachkogel summit.

Spectre

The glass-walled Ice Q restaurant on the Gaislachkogel, at about 3,048 metres, stood in for the Hoffler Klinik, a private clinic in the Alps. Filming happened in early 2015, with some scenes completed in London using a replica and digital extension.

Spectre

The village of Obertilliach in East Tyrol hosted several filming locations, including the historic village centre and the chase’s finale at the Golzentipp ski area. Extra snow was added to make the village look deep in winter.

Today
A small ski and biathlon village; most film structures were removed.
Visiting
Best in winter for the Golzentipp ski area, or in summer for walking.
