The details of the Isabel Marant Gytha halter neck top
A linen blend. The top is made from a white linen blend, the right cloth for heat. It breathes, and it is meant to crease a little. Perfectly pressed linen always looks slightly anxious.
A ruffled halter neck. The neckline is the whole design: a soft ruffle at the throat, with the shoulders and arms left bare. It gives a plain white top some shape without adding colour or pattern.
Embroidered details. The embroidery is decorative rather than loud. It rewards a closer look, which suits a piece that is not trying to be noticed from across the room.
Cropped, with stretch. The cut is short, and the stretch in the fabric lets it sit close to the body without pulling. At the back it closes with a hook and eye, so the line of the halter stays clean.

A high-waisted pair of tailored trousers works equally well and takes the look from the beach bar to dinner. Keep jewellery to one thing.
When to wear it. Warm evenings, holidays, and any dinner where the temperature outstays the dress code. It is not an office piece, and it does not need to be.
Care. Linen softens with washing. Follow the label, wash gently, and dry flat or in the shade. Press while it is still slightly damp if you want it smooth; leave it alone if you do not.
