Few costumes in the Bond films do so much with so little. The Prada black dress in Quantum of Solace is a black cocktail dress, worn by a woman with other things on her mind, and it is the most useful thing to take from Camille’s wardrobe.
In the film
Camille Montes, played by Olga Kurylenko, wears the dress at Greene’s ecological fundraiser in La Paz, where she appears alongside Daniel Craig’s Bond. She stays in it through the Bolivian desert scenes, including the plane ejection and the sinkhole, and it is allowed to look the worse for it. The film is covered on our Quantum of Solace page.
More than one dress was used. A dress offered at Bonhams, described as worn by Kurylenko for the role, carries an inside label reading Prada, Made In Italy, and was bought for her for the part.
What we know, and what we don’t
The dress is a costume, not a product. Prada does not sell it, and the example we can document was offered at auction, so there is no shop page to send you to. The button on this page runs an eBay search for a black Prada cocktail dress, the nearest equivalent. We have not found a reliable source for the fabric, cut or length of the screen dress, so we will not guess. What the sources agree on is a black Prada dress, labelled inside.
Wearing it now
The lesson is in the choice, not the label. A black cocktail dress that suits an evening fundraiser can carry on through a long day afterwards, and Camille’s does exactly that on screen. If you are buying along these lines, we would look for four things:
- Matte over shiny. A dress that does not catch the light ages better and reads as quiet rather than evening-only.
- No visible branding. The Prada name sits on the inside label of the screen dress. Choose a maker who does the same.
- A hem you can move in. Camille wears hers through a plane ejection and a sinkhole. Whatever you buy should survive a full day.
- Shoes and wrap that do the work. Flat leather or a low heel, and a good coat, take it from dinner to travel without changing the dress.

Questions
Who wears the Prada black dress in Quantum of Solace?
Camille Montes, played by Olga Kurylenko. She wears it at Greene’s fundraiser in La Paz and through much of the Bolivian desert sequence.
Can you buy the Prada dress from Quantum of Solace?
Not as a current Prada product. The dress was a film costume and examples have been offered at auction, so we have no shop to link to.
Was more than one dress made?
Yes. A dress described as worn by Kurylenko was offered at Bonhams, and several copies are usual for a costume worn through action scenes.
Is it an exact match for Prada’s current dresses?
No. Prada’s current range is a different collection, and we have not matched any piece to the screen dress.
