Not every object in Q’s laboratory is a prototype. In No Time To Die, the Doosl DSIT032 wireless presenter remote is an ordinary office clicker lying on his desk, easy to miss on a first viewing. It is modest kit, but it solves a real problem.
In the film
The remote is visible, only just, on the desk in Q’s laboratory in No Time To Die (2021). It is a background detail rather than a plot device, so we would not claim more for it than that.
Using it now
A presenter remote earns its place the first time you give a talk without standing beside the laptop. The DSIT032 pairs through a small USB receiver that needs no driver and works with Windows, macOS and Linux, and the receiver tucks into a bay in the body so it travels with the clicker. One receiver can be driven by up to six transmitters, which suits a shared meeting room.
The controls cover next and previous slide, full screen and a black screen, and the green laser is easier to see on a bright screen than a red one. The body is aluminium alloy with a silicone keypad and weighs 49g, so it disappears into a jacket pocket or a laptop bag. A USB cable is included for the battery.
