The Eurocopter Tiger is the helicopter of GoldenEye (1995), and Revell’s 05654 gift set builds it at 1:72 scale. It is an absorbing evening project: 116 parts, a finished length of 194mm, and a shape that looks good from every angle on a shelf.
Pierce Brosnan’s Bond has the Tiger in the film, and Revell sells this kit as that aircraft in its James Bond range. A scale-model builder’s account of the kit calls the helicopter famously featured in the film.
Using it now
This is a kit rather than a finished model, with glue, paints and brushes included, so it is complete from the box. The set has 116 parts and Revell lists it for ages 12 and up; one retailer gives it a skill level of 4 out of 5, so it is a step up from a car kit. Set aside a clean table, a few evenings and good light, and paint in thin coats. Revell’s own shop had the gift set out of stock at the time of writing, so we link to a retailer that had it listed.
The finished helicopter suits a bookcase or desk. Other model-shelf additions are the Italeri AW101 kit from Skyfall and the Corgi DB10, which are alternatives from other films.
