Some objects follow a character through a whole era. The Royal Doulton Jack the Bulldog is one of them: a small porcelain dog under a Union Jack. He sat on M’s desk in Skyfall, was bequeathed to Daniel Craig’s Bond, stood in his apartment in Spectre and is seen once more in No Time To Die.
The edition made for that film is hand decorated in porcelain and deliberately not pristine. Royal Doulton has recreated the chips, the cracks and the charring to the flag that Jack picked up in the explosion at MI6. It carries the new reference DD 007 B, a Royal Doulton and James Bond back stamp, a No Time To Die gift box and a certificate of authenticity.
Owning the Royal Doulton Jack the Bulldog now
The bulldog itself is much older than Bond. Royal Doulton’s art director Charles Noke modelled it, and it was launched in 1941, when the breed was already a symbol of British doggedness. Jack works best alone: on a desk, a mantelpiece or the end of a bookshelf, where a small, slightly battered object gives the room some character. We would keep him away from a shelf of other Bond souvenirs. One is a talking point; a crowd is a display. More objects from the films are in our home and interiors collection.
Royal Doulton lists this edition as out of stock at the time of writing, with a notification option. Full details are on Royal Doulton’s own page.
