In Jamaica, Daniel Craig’s Bond wears sunglasses that do their job without comment: a brown nylon frame, a soft brown lens, nothing to catch the eye. The Vuarnet Legend 06 sunglasses are a vintage shape, created in 1967 by Vuarnet’s own account and still made in France. They are, in our view, a good argument for owning one pair and keeping it for years.
In the film
Bond wears the Legend 06 in the Jamaica sequences of No Time To Die (2021), most visibly while driving the blue Land Rover Series III. The pair has a brown frame with Brownlynx lenses. Vuarnet’s own page says Craig chose the 06 for the film, and he had worn Vuarnet sunglasses off set before it.
The details of the Vuarnet Legend 06 sunglasses
A nylon frame with memory. The frame is Vuarnet’s own nylon, which the maker describes as flexible and extremely resistant, with shape memory. In practice that means it springs back rather than staying bent. The hinges are integrated in one piece with the frame, so the line is uninterrupted, and each pair is made in France.
Brownlynx mineral glass. The lenses are genuine Vuarnet mineral glass in a brown tint. Vuarnet says they restore soft, contrasted colour and give a better sense of relief, and recommends the tint for rocky and green surroundings. They are Category 3: 100% UV protection, 93% infra-red filtration and 90% visible light absorption.
Proportions. Vuarnet sizes it as a medium, with a 58.2mm eye, a 17.4mm bridge, a 137.6mm temple and a lens height of 43.6mm. It lists the model as unisex and suited to medium-sized faces. There is a single size, so try a pair on before you commit.
A film history before Bond. Vuarnet traces the model’s reputation to Alain Delon, who wore the 06 in La Piscine. Bond is the second screen appearance the maker puts forward, and the shape has carried both without strain.
Wearing it now
These are sunglasses for a man who wants his eyewear to be noticed last. Brown sits easily with navy and olive, chambray, linen, sand-coloured chinos and a plain white shirt with the sleeves turned back. They suit a car with the window down, a boat or a terrace, and they work with loafers and no socks.
Which colour? Vuarnet makes the Legend 06 in seven colours, including black, blue and dark green. We would choose the brown with Brownlynx lenses. It is the model and colour from the film, and a warm one against skin and tailoring.
Driving and the water. The lens is tinted brown, so colours read warmer. If you drive a great deal, try a pair in daylight first. Category 3 glass is made for bright sun, so take them off at dusk. On a boat, a simple retainer cord is a sensible addition.
Prescription. Vuarnet lists the model as available with prescription lenses, made up through its Paris and New York boutiques or by an authorised optician. A man who needs correction can still wear this model.

Questions
Which Vuarnet sunglasses does Bond wear in No Time To Die?
Bond wears the Legend 06 in brown with Brownlynx lenses in the Jamaica scenes. He also wears a second Vuarnet model, the Edge 1613, elsewhere in the film.
Is this the same pair Bond wears?
It is the same model and colour, though not the pair used on screen. Vuarnet sells it today as the Legend 06 Originals in Brown / Brownlynx, so there is no need to look for a vintage pair.
How much do the Vuarnet Legend 06 sunglasses cost?
The RRP at the time of writing, October 2026, is US$275 for the Brown / Brownlynx pair on Vuarnet’s US site. Prices vary by region.
Can the Legend 06 be fitted with prescription lenses?
Yes. Vuarnet lists the model as available with prescription lenses, made up at its Paris and New York boutiques or by an authorised optician.
