The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Adam Selman x Le Specs The Flex Sunglasses (No Time To Die)

Black, mirrored and semi-rimless, The Flex is the Adam Selman x Le Specs frame Lashana Lynch’s Nomi wears in No Time To Die, most clearly as she pulls up beside Daniel Craig’s Bond in her Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. A strong shape that rewards a calm outfit.

In No Time To Die, Lashana Lynch’s Nomi wears a flat-topped, semi-rimless pair with black mirrored lenses. The Le Specs The Flex sunglasses are, in our view, among the film’s most distinctive frames, because they make no attempt to blend in.

In the film

Nomi wears them in No Time To Die (2021), briefly in the Cuba scene and again when she drives up alongside Daniel Craig’s Bond in her Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, where she also wears Dents driving gloves. They appear in the trailer too. The pair is the Adam Selman x Le Specs The Flex, style 1702121, in black.

The details of the Le Specs The Flex sunglasses

A collaboration frame. The Flex comes from a collection that designer Adam Selman made with Le Specs, drawing on 1980s shapes. It is a fashion frame rather than a classic one, and it reads as such.

A straight bar across the top. The brow line is a single flat bar, which gives the face a squared, graphic look. Because the frame is semi-rimless, the shape stays lighter than a full frame of the same size would.

Black mirrored lenses. Combined with the matte black frame, the effect is uniform and slightly severe. The colourway is listed as Satin Black.

Acetate and metal. Retailer listings give the material as acetate and metal.

Wearing it now

This is a frame for a man with a settled sense of his own style, not one still looking for it. The shape is strong, so everything around it should be calm: a navy or charcoal overshirt, a plain white tee, an unlined linen jacket. We would keep the rest of the outfit monochrome and let the glasses be the only loud thing.

Where it works. Driving, certainly, and the beach or harbour in summer. It is less happy with a tailored suit, where a quieter frame is the right choice.

Fit. We have not handled a pair and cannot comment on how it wears. Le Specs has a virtual try-on tool, which is worth using before you buy, because a straight-topped shape can be unforgiving on the wrong face.

Owning it now. Availability is the difficulty. Le Specs’s own listing was reported sold out some time ago and we cannot find it as a regular line, so we treat it as out of production and found second-hand; our button runs a search on eBay. Check the style code on the arm against any listing, and ask for clear photographs of the lenses. More frames from the films are in our eyewear category.

In the same spirit

These are current alternatives, in the spirit of the look. None is the piece from the film.

Questions

Are these the sunglasses Nomi wears in No Time To Die?

Yes. The pair Lashana Lynch wears as Nomi is identified as the Adam Selman x Le Specs The Flex 1702121 in black.

Where do they appear in the film?

Briefly in the Cuba scene, and more clearly when Nomi drives up beside Bond in her Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. They also appear in the trailer.

Can you still buy the Le Specs The Flex sunglasses?

Not new, as far as we can tell. Le Specs’s listing was reported sold out and one retailer showed it out of stock in 2025, so pairs are found second-hand. Be careful with condition and authenticity.

Who designed The Flex?

Adam Selman, in a collaboration with Le Specs built around 1980s-inspired frames.
