The world of James Bond, considered for a life well lived

Tom Ford Navy Rayon Piqué Polo Shirt (Spectre)

Daniel Craig’s Bond wears this navy rayon piqué polo from Tom Ford when he arrives in Morocco in Spectre. Plain, dark and banded at the hem, it is the easiest piece of his travelling wardrobe to wear now. Tom Ford no longer sells this exact shirt, so it is found second-hand.

The Tom Ford navy polo that Daniel Craig’s Bond wears in Spectre is a plain knit in rayon piqué, worn in Morocco with nothing to prove. We would argue it is the most copyable piece in his wardrobe, because it asks for no occasion.

In the film

Bond wears the polo in the Morocco sequence of Spectre (2015), when he and Madeleine Swann arrive and go to the hotel room. It also appears with the Henry sunglasses and the Matchless jacket as part of his Morocco casual outfit. See the rest of the film in our Spectre guide.

The details of the Tom Ford navy polo

Rayon piqué. The knit is a textured piqué, reported as 57% cotton and 43% rayon. That blend is the one detail that separates it from an ordinary cotton polo.

A banded hem. The shirt has short sleeves and a banded bottom edge, a more fitted finish than a straight hem. In our view it suits being worn untucked.

Navy. A deep, dark blue that works with every neutral. It is the colour that makes the shirt a staple rather than a statement.

Wearing it now

Treat it as a replacement for the T-shirt, not for the shirt. Navy piqué under a jacket, with stone or beige chinos and suede shoes, is the simplest warm-weather outfit we know, and not far from the Morocco look on screen. It also suits a flight, a long lunch, or a drive that ends at a hotel.

Fit. Choose it close, not tight. A banded hem only works if the body of the shirt sits clean; a size up defeats the design.

Finding one. Tom Ford no longer appears to sell this exact shirt, so it is found second-hand. The button on this page runs a search for it on eBay. Look at the fabric and the banded hem in the photographs, and check the size against Tom Ford’s own guide.

In the same spirit

For a navy polo you can buy new, the Sunspel Riviera polo in navy is an alternative in the same quiet register: a slim cotton-mesh polo, not the Tom Ford shirt in Spectre. Tom Ford’s current piqué polos, the Tennis Piquet Polo and the Piquet Polo, are US$490 (RRP at the time of writing, October 2026), and are also a route to the look. Questions

What polo does Bond wear in Spectre?

Bond wears a navy Tom Ford rayon piqué polo in the Morocco scenes, including on arrival with Madeleine Swann at the hotel.

Can you still buy the Spectre Tom Ford polo?

Not new, as far as we can tell. The exact shirt is found second-hand, and our button searches eBay. A current Tom Ford piqué polo or the Sunspel Riviera polo is the practical alternative.

What is the Spectre polo made of?

It is a rayon piqué knit, reported as 57% cotton and 43% rayon. That composition comes from a third-party source, not from Tom Ford.

What does Bond wear the polo with?

In Morocco it appears with the Henry sunglasses and a Matchless jacket. We would add stone chinos and suede shoes.
