The Smeg BLF01 blender is the sort of object that says something about how a man lives. In No Time To Die, a retro-style Smeg blender sits in Q’s home among other Smeg appliances, a quiet domestic detail in a film of scale and noise. Our best match is the BLF01, probably in white, though the exact model and colour are not confirmed.
Using the Smeg BLF01 blender now
The case for it is partly looks and partly build. The body is die-cast aluminium on a non-slip base, so it stays put while it works, and the power cord stores away in the base. It will sit on a counter without apology. We would keep it in white or cream, beside a steel kettle and a wooden board, rather than in a bright colour.
It is practical too. There are three programmes (ice crush, smoothie and pulse) and four speeds, with a gradual soft start. The jug is BPA-free Tritan and dishwasher-safe, with a measuring cap and a non-drip spout. The blade unit is removable.
One caution: Smeg now lists a newer blender, the BLF03, and we could not confirm the BLF01 in white as current stock, so our button runs an eBay search for the BLF01WH. Check which model and colour you are buying. In RTINGS’s testing the older BLF01 handled crushed ice and fibrous ingredients better than its successor. Our No Time To Die guide and the home and interiors pieces show what else fills Q’s house.
