Gifts for a James Bond Fan: Considered Choices for Christmas

A Christmas gift guide for the man who loves the films, arranged by who he is rather than by price. Each pick has a reason, and the caveats are stated plainly.

Life of Bond earns a commission on some purchases made through links on this page, at no cost to you. Read how we work.

The best James Bond gifts are rarely the ones with a film logo on them. The man who loves these films has usually seen every frame, and he does not need another mug. What he tends to value is the thing he would not buy for himself: a well-made bag, a bottle worth keeping, a lamp that will outlast three flats. So this guide is arranged by the person receiving the gift rather than by price, and it keeps to fewer, better choices. Where a piece appears in a film, we say so only when the record supports it.

The short answer

If you are buying for a man who travels, choose the Bennett Winch S.C. Holdall with Suit Carrier. If he drinks well, choose a bottle of Macallan 18 Year Old or, for a table of two, Château Angélus. If he is particular about his wardrobe, a cashmere N.Peal cable roll neck sweater or a pair of Albert Thurston dove grey braces will be worn for years. For a desk or a study, the Anglepoise Original 1227 desk lamp is the quiet answer. For the man who has everything, a Leica Q2 is a considered buy, with a caveat about availability that we explain below.

For the traveller

A man who moves between cities in a suit wants one thing above others: that the suit arrives looking as it left. In No Time To Die, Paloma unrolls a long olive canvas carrier to present Daniel Craig’s Bond with his Tom Ford tuxedo. Only the carrier is seen, but it is the suit-carrier half of the Bennett Winch S.C. Holdall with Suit Carrier, and the pair together are, in our view, the most sensible way to travel with tailoring.

The carrier is 24oz British dyed, waterproof cotton canvas, and it wraps around an 18oz canvas twill holdall that holds 32 litres. Bennett Winch says the assembled bag meets carry-on rules for most full-service airlines. The hardware is solid brass, and it is made in England. The RRP is US$1,650 (£995), RRP at the time of writing, October 2026.

We would give it to someone who moves a good suit about for weddings and client dinners, not to a man who rarely travels with tailoring; it weighs 2.2kg empty and is a lot to spend on a bag. Olive is the colour on screen and the one we would choose.

For a smaller gift on the same theme, the Dents Daniel gloves are black, unlined hairsheep leather with inseam stitching and a palm vent, and Dents describes them as the glove worn by Craig’s Bond in Skyfall. They are cut close, so size with care: measure around the widest part of the hand and, between sizes, round down. The RRP is US$182 on Dents’ US site, at the time of writing, October 2026.

For the man who dresses well

Clothing is the riskiest gift, and the only safe version is the one that hardly depends on fit. Three things qualify.

The first is the N.Peal cable roll neck sweater in Fumo Grey. N.Peal lists it as worn by Bond in Spectre, in the Austrian scenes where he meets Mr White. It is 100% Mongolian cashmere in a fine cable, and the light grey sits with navy, charcoal, brown and olive. A roll neck fills the gap at the throat of a jacket more neatly than an open collar. Fold it rather than hanging it.

The second is the Albert Thurston dove grey braces. They are 35mm wide, narrower than the maker’s standard 40mm, with brown leather ends and gilt fittings, and they are made in England. Albert Thurston lists the dove grey pair as worn by Craig in No Time To Die; our catalogue places them with the Matera chase outfit. They come with loops for trouser buttons and clips for trousers without them, which is worth checking before you give them. Braces have no size, which is rather the point.

The third is the S.T. Dupont Diamond Head cufflinks. Palladium, square, with a grid of raised diamond tips taken from the maker’s lighters, 17.06mm across. Bond wears the 5172 in Casino Royale, and again with the tuxedo at the Bregenz opera in Quantum of Solace. Dupont now lists the same pattern under reference 005568, and we would treat that as the pair to buy. They need a double cuff, so check his shirts first.

For the host

A bottle brought to a dinner should be one the host will want to open soon, not one that sits in a cellar being admired. For a dinner for two, Château Angélus is the choice. In Casino Royale, Craig’s Bond and Vesper Lynd drink it together, and a 2005 bottle sits in the dining car in Spectre. We would open it for two or four with something simple and red-meat-led. The 2021 is the last vintage labelled Premier Grand Cru Classé A; the estate withdrew from the classification at the start of 2022. Prices vary by vintage, so ask the retailer. For a less costly route in the spirit of the bottle, the estate’s second wine, Carillon d’Angélus, costs a fraction of the grand vin.

For a larger table, Bollinger R.D. 2002 is the Champagne Craig’s Bond drinks in Spectre. R.D. stands for récemment dégorgé: it rests on its lees for years and is disgorged shortly before release. It is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, and we would pour it with food (oysters, duck, aged Comté) in a white-wine glass rather than a flute. The RRP is US$375 (RRP at the time of writing, October 2026). One honest warning: the retailer we checked listed it as pre-arrival, with stock due in February 2027, so confirm availability before you promise it for Christmas.

If the host would rather have glass than wine, the Royal Doulton Highclere tumblers are a plain diamond-and-wedge-cut crystal tumbler of 290ml, seen in No Time To Die when M sets one down in Bond’s honour. Buy the set of four. Royal Doulton’s own page did not list them at the time of writing, so treat availability as unconfirmed.

For the man who has everything

He does not need a thing. He needs a reason to do something he already half wants to do. A Leica Q2 is that kind of gift. It is a full-frame compact with a fixed 28mm f/1.7 lens, 47.3 megapixels, and very little else to decide about. It sits on Q’s desk at his home in No Time To Die, unremarked, which is rather why we like it.

The caveat is plain. Leica USA lists the Q2 as no longer available and points buyers to the Q3, which leaves second-hand; at the time of writing, October 2026, B&H lists used examples from US$3,799.95. We would buy from an authorised dealer with a documented condition report. It is a gift for a partner or a close family member, not for a colleague.

For the reader and the desk

We looked for a book to put here and found none on our shelves that we would recommend as a gift, so we will not pretend otherwise. What a reader actually needs is light and quiet, and the Anglepoise Original 1227 desk lamp supplies both. George Carwardine, an automotive engineer, built it around a constant-tension spring, which is why the arms stay where you leave them. It launched in 1935 and Anglepoise still makes it, in aluminium with a cast iron base, with a bulb in the box. A pale example stands on the boat in No Time To Die where Bond meets Felix Leiter, and a black one sits beside the leather chair in Bond’s apartment in Spectre. We cannot say which pale colour was used on the boat, so Linen White or Dove Grey are both in the spirit of it, and Jet Black is the quieter choice for a study. The RRP is US$320, at the time of writing, October 2026.

Beside it, the Tivoli Audio Model One radio makes a good second gift for the same room. In No Time To Die it sits in the background of Bond’s room at the Jamaican villa. It has a handmade wood cabinet, one 3-inch driver, an AM/FM tuner and a 3.5mm input, and it is mono, so it belongs in a room rather than at the centre of a stereo pair. The RRP is US$149.99 (RRP at the time of writing, October 2026). Tivoli listed the Walnut / Beige as out of stock, so check the finish; the separate Model One BT is the version to give if he plays music from a phone. More for the room is in home and interiors.

For the person who loves a drink

Whisky is the easy answer, and for once the easy answer is right. The Macallan 18 Year Old is matured for a minimum of 18 years, predominantly in sherry-seasoned European oak casks from Jerez, at 43% ABV, and the maker describes ginger, dark chocolate and dates. Craig’s Bond drinks an 18 Year Old in his apartment in Spectre; the film does not name the release, so ours is the current Sherry Oak 18. In Skyfall he drinks a different bottle, the Macallan Fine & Rare 1962, which is not what we are suggesting. We would buy the current release. Our wider food and drink collection has more bottles worth keeping.

For a man who prefers the bathroom shelf to the drinks cabinet, grooming is the quieter route. The Geo. F. Trumper Eucris shaving soap is glycerine-based, 80g, in a black wooden bowl, with a refill sold separately. In Skyfall Bond shaves with a black wooden bowl, brush and razor; our records read it as the Trumper Eucris, though the label is absent on the prop. The RRP runs from £15 to £25 across the refill and the bowl (RRP at the time of writing, October 2026). The brush is bought separately.

The Santa Maria Novella Melograno eau de cologne is a gift for anyone, not only for him. It is a pomegranate-led citrus and rose cologne from a Florentine house that dates its founding to 1221, and the bottle appears in Vesper Lynd’s purse at the end of Casino Royale. It runs from bergamot and bitter orange through pomegranate and rose to oakmoss and musk, and is sold for men and women alike. We would choose the 100ml (EUR 135; the 50ml is EUR 95, RRP at the time of writing, October 2026).

What to avoid

Some gifts are easy to buy and hard to receive.

  • Anything with a logo. Branded mugs, T-shirts and keyrings say that you reached for the nearest film reference.
  • Prop replicas. Unless he collects them, they live in a drawer.
  • Clothing in a size you are guessing. Braces, cufflinks and cologne need no size; shoes and tailoring do.
  • Anything promised for Christmas that is not in stock. Some pieces here are pre-arrival, out of stock in one finish or second-hand only. Check before you commit.

Questions

What is a good gift for a James Bond fan who has seen everything?

Choose something he can use that also appears in the films, rather than a licensed novelty. A desk lamp such as the Anglepoise Original 1227, a radio such as the Tivoli Audio Model One, or a bottle of The Macallan 18 Year Old all work, because they belong in a room whether or not he ever thinks of the film.

What should I give a man who travels?

A bag that protects tailoring. The Bennett Winch S.C. Holdall with Suit Carrier is the one we would choose; for something smaller, a pair of Dents Daniel gloves is a gift that needs only a glove size.

Which gifts need no sizing?

Braces, cufflinks, a lamp, a radio, a bottle, shaving soap and cologne.
